It took Jane close to six months to have her poultry farm up and running. She went for the best breed known for laying quality eggs. Her friend had advised her to go for such breed as it will enhance productivity generally for her farm.
Just three months after the setup she started seeing impressive results. Her birds were all fine and well fed. They've started laying eggs too. Business started flourishing. She was running the farm all alone. But she had plans to get an assistant soon.
Jane made a mistake and left one of the pens open. Her birds came out and one of them in particular strayed and stayed out for hours. Jane came back and brought it in to join others. Few days later that particular bird that strayed caught flu and unfortunately infected the others. Jane quickly called the affected birds and quarantined them. Only two recovered while the rest, about six died of the flu attack.
Jane was happy that it did not infect the others such much and thanks for her quick and proactive response over the incident. Otherwise she would have lost a greater part of her birds to the flu because of her little mistake.
