You ever had one of those weeks where your brain goes full throttle, your heart feels like it’s been through a boxing match with Tyson, and your body decides, “Yeah nah, I’m out”?
Well, I just did.
And let me tell you, grief isn’t just an emotion. It’s a full-body workout you never signed up for. Like CrossFit for your soul. Only instead of endorphins, you get tears, administrative hell, and a fever that makes you question your life decisions and your thermostat at the same time.
💔 Grief First. Flu Later. Coincidence? The Universe Laughs.
We lost someone. Someone close. And like many of you know, when life kicks you in the teeth, it rarely does it politely or on schedule. You’re thrown into logistics, comforting others, making a hundred decisions when you’d rather just scream into a pillow. You function because you have to.
And when it finally seems like there's space to breathe, when you sit still for just a second, that’s when your body chimes in:
“Hey boss, now that you're not sprinting on adrenaline and caffeine, I’m just gonna go ahead and shut down.”
Enter: The flu.
Yep. Came in hot like a bad sequel to an already terrible movie. Fever, chills, achy bones, and one epic solo performance of the “Why Me?” flu blues. But hey, at least I got to lie horizontal without explaining it to anyone.
📉 Rock Bottom Emails and Inbox Existentialism
Today marked the first day I was mostly vertical. Big win. Checked emails instead of my temperature. Looked at Discord messages instead of questioning my entire life path (just most of it). Still running at half speed, like a dial-up modem in a 5G world, but hey, progress is progress, baby.
🐝 Back to the Hive. Slowly. But Surely.
I’m not about to sprint back into the chaos like some glorified martyr. That’s not strength, that’s ego in disguise. So yes, I’ll be easing back in. Rebuilding. Rebooting. Reconnecting. But make no mistake...
I’m coming back. Clearer. Slower. Sharper. Stronger.
Make way. The hive calls. And I’ve got work to do.

- Took a hit, took a break. Now I’m back-ish.
- If you’re grieving, give yourself time. Like real time. Not “I took a nap and answered emails” time.

- The comeback starts small, but it starts.
