Happy weekend friends and everyone in the #homesolutions community. It's been a while now since I shared my home activities with everyone and I have decided that today won't pass me by again.
I did some manual laundry today and that's what I want to share with everyone. But before I move on to detailing the procedures and end result of my laundry, I would love to tell everyone about my state of loneliness.
It's often said that "One won't value what he has until he misses it." This saying is absolutely true. Yesterday morning, my parents left home for a long journey to my hometown. I couldn't go along with them because of my ongoing exams. Sometimes I used to feel I would enjoy total freedom whenever my parents aren't around but guess what, just yesterday they left, I'm already missing them and the house is getting more boring than ever😭😤.
Most of my time today was spent doing laundry, I did so because it was necessary that you maintain personal hygiene but I also did the laundry to keep off the boredom for the meantime.
Today's laundry was like none before because it was in two segments; clothes and shoes laundry. I first washed the clothes, hung them before going ahead to properly wash the shoes.
Since I often do my laundry downstairs due to a free tap, I would always gather everything I'll need so I won't have to be climbing the stairs repeatedly. Though that's a way of exercising the body.
So I first gathered everything I needed, which included shoes, clothes, buckets and hangers. After that, I had to go to the basin where we often produce our homemade soap to scoop the quantity that would be enough for the entire laundry process.
On getting downstairs, the laundry process commenced.
THE FIRST SEGMENT: clothes laundry
I decided to start washing the clothes first before the shoes so I could hang them and the sun begins to dry them since clothes have a longer drying duration compared to shoes.
First, I made a huge fume by vigorously shaking the water and soap mixture. The fumes are actually the factor that enhances washing my scrubbing(manual laundry).
After making out the fumes, I submerged the first set of clothes for washing, washed them and hung them on the line with my hangers. I did the same for the rest of the clothes and by the time I was done, almost the entire line was occupied.
THE SECOND SEGMENT: shoes laundry
For the shoes, I washed by the scrubbing method as well but this time with a sponge and a brush rather than bare hands as in clothes laundry.
I had to make a different soapy liquid mixture for the shoe laundry, then I used this soapy water to wash each of the shoes making sure the shoes were soaked in the soapy fumes.
Under the rushing water from the tap, I rinsed the shoes off the soapy fumes to make them look clean.
I also arranged the shoes by the pavement for them to dry. After this, I had to wash the buckets used for the washing before calling it a day.
It's often said that "How one dresses is how he's addressed." This simply means that how I make myself look actually matters because that creates a picture of me in others mind. If I don't engage in regular laundry to maintain my personal hygiene, then I might often be addressed as a careless person when it comes to personal cleanliness.

Hoy lavé la ropa a mano y eso es lo que quiero compartir. Pero antes de detallar los procedimientos y el resultado final, me gustaría contarles sobre mi estado de soledad.
Suele decirse que "uno no valora lo que tiene hasta que lo extraña". Este dicho es totalmente cierto. Ayer por la mañana, mis padres se fueron de casa para un largo viaje a mi ciudad natal. No pude acompañarlos por los exámenes. A veces sentía que disfrutaría de total libertad cuando mis padres no estaban, pero ¿saben qué? Justo ayer se fueron, ya los extraño y la casa se está volviendo más aburrida que nunca 😭😤.
Hoy pasé la mayor parte del tiempo lavando ropa. Lo hice porque era necesario mantener la higiene personal, pero también para no aburrirme.
La colada de hoy fue como ninguna otra, ya que se dividió en dos partes: ropa y zapatos. Primero lavé la ropa, la colgué y luego lavé bien los zapatos.
Como suelo lavar la ropa abajo gracias al grifo libre, siempre recogía todo lo necesario para no tener que subir las escaleras constantemente. Aunque es una forma de ejercitar el cuerpo.
Así que primero recogí todo lo necesario: zapatos, ropa, cubos y perchas. Después, tenía que ir al lavadero donde solemos hacer nuestro jabón casero para sacar la cantidad necesaria para todo el proceso de lavado.
Al bajar las escaleras, comenzó el proceso de lavandería.
PRIMER SEGMENTO: Lavado de ropa
Decidí empezar a lavar la ropa antes que los zapatos para poder colgarlos y que el sol los seque, ya que la ropa tarda más en secarse que los zapatos.
Primero, agité vigorosamente la mezcla de agua y jabón y formé un vapor enorme. De hecho, este vapor es lo que mejora el lavado (lavado manual).
Después de deshacerme de los vapores, sumergí la primera ropa para lavar, la lavé y la colgué en el tendedero con mis perchas. Hice lo mismo con el resto de la ropa y, para cuando terminé, casi toda la ropa estaba ocupada.
EL SEGUNDO SEGMENTO: lavado de zapatos Para los zapatos, también los lavé frotando, pero esta vez con una esponja y un cepillo en lugar de con las manos desnudas como en el lavado de ropa.
Tuve que hacer una mezcla de líquido jabonoso diferente para lavar los zapatos, luego usé esta agua jabonosa para lavar cada uno de los zapatos, asegurándome de que estuvieran empapados en los vapores jabonosos.
Bajo el chorro de agua del grifo, enjuagué los zapatos para eliminar los vapores jabonosos y dejarlos limpios.
