Hello people!
I'm thinking today... it's Sunday and I have some little time left. But other days I also think when I go and then I come back home.
We often go on automatic because we have so many things to do, and yet, we don't have much time to stop and reflect. But I've realized lately that there are some slivers of time we can take advantage of and make our own instead of getting caught up in the whirlwind of rushing and daily tasks.
And I've realized this precisely during commutes. Because we have to move from one place to another, often routinely, and we often waste too much time, but we can't do anything. Yes, we can leave our phones in our bags for once; we'll have time later to read everything the little screen shows us; and start looking out the bus window (if we're driving, no, always look ahead). But on the bus that connects two towns, from the one I'm going to the one I'm coming from, and from the one I'm coming to the one I'm going to, we can enjoy the same journey because even though it's always the same, it's never the same.
GOING
The days change, and so does the light. So we go, and the journey isn't so dark anymore. At least now the day gives us that moment of peace at dawn, and that faint magical light that at first mingles with the electric lights around us.
And the cars go by... We go fast, but so does the sun, it seems impatient to light up our new day. I like it. We can only breathe, contemplate and think that today will be a good day.
COMING (BACK)
But no matter all that has passed, those cold moments or those moments of darkness or simple silence... things have happened, everything has changed. Because everything changes constantly, every moment. And after many things have happened, whether we realise it or not, what was going to be, has already been, and now all that's left is to come back?
The journey is the same, but in reverse. But now everything changes, even more. The sun is king, the light is powerful and the blue of the sky is magnificent. And we look out of the window again, and we realize how lucky we are, even if we complain about the lost time and the distances, because we have the sea to accompany us. Not everyone can travel along part of the Mediterranean coast every day while enjoying its marvelous blue views.
Beaches calmly almost deserted, with vegetation and some palm trees, as if suddenly the cities had disappeared and so had the hustle and bustle of the day. A unique moment that brings us back to the harmony of the beginning of the day, but in a different way. Looking out the window and appreciating all that is there relaxes us, while sometimes we reflect on all this, or simply meditate on our life...
It doesn't take much more than that, just finding our moment. And our moment can be as we go or as we come, while everything becomes easier and more charming, if we leave the messages and news briefly and feel present in that place that is changing as we pass by, and to all that a simple bus window offers us.
We are coming and going, that's what it's all about, our routine and our life, to come and go, to go and come...
