Ever wonder where the saying “a snake in the grass” came from? It’s usually in reference to a person who is seriously bad news for anyone who encounters them. While that is definitely true sometimes, I have another idea! These are Giant Snake Grass; a bog plant around these parts.
Right next to this clump of them is a grassy field……well you can guess the rest! A snake (snakes) in the grass!
Seriously though, watch out for folks who don’t have your best interests at heart!
Today dawned with needing to run a few errands in Lynden. So, I started up our trusty steed, Zuki, and off we went! We needed to feed her so we stopped at a local to Lynden truck stop gas station that is fairly new and offers good prices, and fed Zuki. Then we set about our errands, one which being a trip to the Dollar Tree. You know, they’re going to have to change their name as I am now seeing $3, $5, $9 and even $19 dollar price tags! Their stock is changing for sure and after locating a 3 ring binder, we looked around to see what was new. They have a lot of inexpensive solar lights. Some of my longest lasting (meaning multiple seasons) are from there. I always add one or two every year.
We also got some coffee as usual from Starbucks; hung out for a little while and headed home.
Once home, I got ready for a Zoom call that lasted an hour and then started a workout on the stationary bike.
I’ve got more pics from yesterday’s hike. Enjoy!

The Skunk Weed is close to 15” tall already! It’s looking like it’s going to be gargantuan by June!
It’s so interesting in my neck of the woods! Once things start blooming here, we literally have plants that will continue to bloom or other species that begin blooming later on, clear up until November! I’ve seen little pink and white forest floor flowers bloom right on through into January even! It’s quite remarkable!
That’s gonna be it for now. Take care as always and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌎🙏

NKJV Luke 19:45-48
Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, saying to them, “It is written, My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of thieves.’ ”
And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.
