Subconscious Reward & It's relation to drive :
When we have a goal, it is often a socialised habit to share about it which usually stems from a notion of "getting their perspective".
Problem is when the person in question has a good image of us or holds us in good regard, we are often treated like we have already achieved the said goal which subconsciously acts as a reward for our psyche instead of the feedback of the work itself acting like it.
What I had started doing is share it with people who no relations to my daily life or I feel are detached enough for not letting my shared goals affect the flow of our conversation while at the same time are honest enough to share their perspective. Simultaneously I take it upon myself to filter their biases and assumptions.
For closed ones I have timeline of sharing, once I have started the work and have already experienced 1-2 psychological feedback reward from the work.
The, I share it with my loved ones, as my brain don't get attached to their loving praise or support.
