By Far The Worst!

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

My Favourite One!

Now this goes without a doubt! This must be my all time favourite transmission to do teardowns on! Now with that said this was one hell of a dirty car!

Honestly this was a rats nest and not a dirty car! This thing has rat droppings in almost every damned corner of the engine bay! They lived inside the padding on the bonnet! Things are really bad! But hey at-least it's not my car! Laughs!

How does that even happen to start with?

Let's remove the clutch here real quick! That's all we are allowed to do!

Just by merely turning this clutch I can already hear how badly wound up this thing is!

This things has been giving problems for far longer than anyone even bothered to care for! But heyyy at-least they got their money's worth from it right?

Drove it up to the last bit!

I had to legitly wedge these out of place where as to normally I just gave them a quick twist and they came loose like nothing!

I had to wedge and bang on these that's how clogged up they were! Insane to think! When I say this is the worst one I am legitly not even joking! THE ABSOLUTE WORST ONE!

There's a way to release this clutch and it pops right out!

Usually they just pop out without the use of a hammer, I had to bang this on the input shaft to get some shock through it and still it sat! Banged a little harder and it started moving slowly and surely!

Of-course not the way to do it but it worked! That just goes to show through how much water this thing has driven before!

Halla Damn!

Now that is something critical!!

None of those parts on the inside can be re-used at all! They wanted us to re-use some stuff but that just is not an option anymore! We can maybe re-use the transmission but anything else damn no!

This clutch set is a damned write off! This is certain! Absolutely nothing that can be re-used here! Nothing!

Even the stainless steel bolts has stuff covering it! Rust marks and all that!_

Hella bad!

Even the clamping plate has started failing!

Might be why this vehicle wasn't clutching anymore!
Well that and a whole lot of other reasons! But this wasn't too far off from cracking and breaking of completely!

I'm reallu surprised as to how people can actually drive like this? Without a shred of worry in them? This thing must have been jerking up and down the road non stop!
But they drove on! LOL!

Take note this is not a how to guide, merely myself talking about the work I do and my thoughts around certain things.

To everyone who made it this far into my post Thank you for the read and the support.

That thing is absolutely wrecked🤣. I have seen a lot dirtier and rusted beyond repair and rats everywhere so i know how you feel. Granted to say usually only on bakkies they use on the farms in our surroundings and the vehicles are stored with all the grain and stuff so rats and stuff do get in. free food i guess for them. The worst i've probable seen was a bakkie with a decomposing chassis(rusted like hell). it came in for a front shock absorber that was basically split in two and an entire pack of leaf springs snapped of right in the middle where the u-bolts are positioned. till this day i do not know how they succeeded in that move.

Yep! A real mess, but I am sure that you will get it sorted out!
