Visiting the grocery store with my daughter, we noticed something new: a machine that dispenses and rolls OAT groats!
I've never seen unrolled oats before, there were a lot of groats in the shoot. Pressing the button began dispensing the groats, rolling them flat on the way out. We filled a bag of freshly rolled oats.
Our family goes through a lot of oatmeal in a single breakfast, so this bag is likely only one meal for everyone. Regardless, it smells amazing! I tried some dry and it tasted different from what we're used to. Nuttier and sweeter.
So this is what freshly rolled oats taste like! What a special treat!
