Hi community!

Barça have announced that only Flick will appear before the media on Monday.

Barça have announced a change in protocol for the Champions League qualifier against Benfica on Tuesday. Instead of a player from the squad and the coach appearing before the media, only Hansi Flick will speak.

Following the events of Saturday, with the sudden death of the first team doctor Carles Miñarro, Barça asked UEFA to prevent the presence of a player at a press conference and the body granted it without any problems. With this measure, the club hopes to protect a squad that has suffered a very painful emotional blow and is still in a state of shock.

Flick will be in charge of answering questions from journalists. It will be the coach's first appearance since the tragic news was known, so it will be an atypical press conference in which the coach will have to address issues that go beyond the sporting aspect.

Before that, at 11:00 am, the last session before the match against Benfica will begin. The squad already trained on Monday and will have the difficult mission of continuing to compete despite the emotional blow. The Blaugrana team achieved a great result in Da Luz (0-1) that allows them to face the match in a good position.

Flick's team won against Benfica, despite playing with one less player from the 23rd minute due to Cubarsí's expulsion. The youth player was going to start against Osasuna and will miss the match against the Portuguese team due to suspension. Ronald Araujo is the big favourite to accompany Iñigo Martínez in the centre of defence on Tuesday.

The Uruguayan played a large part of the match at Da Luz and was one of the team's defensive keys to maintaining the result. He did so in a scenario that favours him: a defence closer to the goalkeeper because he was playing with one less player. Tuesday will be different and the Uruguayan will have to manage a much more advanced line with which he is less familiar.

See You soon!
