I've been on a bit of a movie binge lately. Cacthing up on some movies that I was intending to watch in theaters but never got around to it.
Last night I watched Captain America Brave New World. I watched it SUPER late at night even though I had to be up for work early in the morning. But I enjoyed every bit of the movie.
I don't know how I made it through the day with as much energy as I did, but the movie was worth the watch.
I'm not a big Marvel movie loyalist, but I was interested enough to want to see this movie. I just thought it was interesting they're moving the story along with another Captain America after Steve Roger in Phase 1 of the MCU and wanted to see where they go with it.
The movie gets right into the thick of the story from the beginning and gives you some good action pretty early in the film. Overall they did a good job of just walking the audience through good story and the first adventure of the new Captain America.
The new Captain, Sam Wilson, isn't as juiced up and "super" as Steve Rogers, but he has the the old Captain's shield which was handed down to him, a new suite that was gifted to him by the Wakandans, and some cool overall tech.
The main antagonist had some nice tricks up his sleeve through out the movie and put the Captain and his team in some situations that looked liked they might not make it through.
Looking at the trailer, I thought the main bad guy was going to be the Red Hulk was the main bad guy of the movie which wasn't the case at all. I thought that is was cool how some of the other characters in the movie felt this way too.
The supporting cast of characters were fresh faces to me but did a good job in their roles. It's gonna be interesting to see how they use these characters in future movies.
Captain America is given a certain task in the movie and it's pretty obvious who the celestial body is in the ocean that they're gonna have to deal with at some point.
I wasn't planning on watching the new Thunderbolts movie with the Winter Soldie coming out soon but I might have to check it out to see if it addresses some of the things I was seeing in Captain America.
But this was a really solid movie overall. If you were intending on watching it and missed the movie, I say it's worth making time for. If I had to give Captain America: A Brave New World a rating, I'd rate it:
8.6/10
