Today, I will take us through the making of a bag using silk threads. The silk threads look like belts. They are in different colours. They usually come in rolls. Each roll contains about 100 yards.
Materials:
The materials used in this process are:
Silk belts
Scissors
Threads
Tape
Sowing Machine
The Process:
The silk belts are cut into pieces depending on the size of the bag. Some will be in the size of the width while the others will take the size of the length. In my example, I want to make a medium size school bag. So I cut the thread into 33 inches (for the length) and 13 inches (for the breath)
After cutting the pieces, we weave them together to make a mat. The spread of the mat will be the sides of the bag. The weaving is done to the taste of the owner of the bag. We weave the different colors to give the bag the desired beauty.
After weaving, we join the mats together to form a bag. The inside of the bag is lined with light clothes or nylon depending on the purpose of the bag.
Then we sow together some of the silk belts to form strands which are used for the handle of the bag.
With every piece joined together, the school bag is ready.
