Welcome back lovely lady, thanks for visiting! 😊
We have started chicks in February before, but found it too cold for them, so now we wait until mid March and have the first batch of hatchlings between the 31st of March and the 04 of April. They stay in the basement until it warms up enough for them. After that, we'll put them in the old chicken coop until they're big enough to fend for themselves with the main flock...right around mid-to-end June. It's our favourite time on the homestead, they're so dang cute. 😊
We have several Sunflowers, some Marigolds, Shasta and African Daisies, Chamomile, Thyme and a few other herbs along with our lettuce and a couple potato plants growing in the basement right now. It's the only way my handsome husband can get through the post winter, pre-thaw time. He's so keen on getting into the garden, but the snowstorm from last week needs to melt off first. 😊
We have a three-year-old tomato plant with a three-year-old broccoli, a couple small lemon trees, a nice ginger, and a couple amazing aloe plants upstairs by our patio doors. Everyone, but the tomatoes, aloe, and broccoli will head outside once it warms up, as well. It's been a lot of fun learning about the plants/trees/herbs we use most and want to learn to cultivate for ourselves. 😊
I've got to go, so we'll chat again soon. 😊
God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊
