My first interaction with the tribe (back then it was just a community) was with the #iamalivechallenge initiative. It was quite a popular challenge and was well accepted by the hive authors. It helped us to show the world that we were alive, amid hardship, including COVID. This challenge not only helped us to post daily, but it also encouraged us to grow our network by engaging with fellow community members. We were even rewarded just for sharing with the world that we were alive! That rewarding system (HP delegation) was stopped later.
Even though, Erik started the challenge on April 03, 2020, I joined the party on Dec 23, 2020. Most of my posts were combo posts, actifit report, and #IAAC report. Amid COVID, this challenge motivated me to post daily. We had many active participants back then. Unfortunately, the majority of them are no longer active, including the mastermind behind this project on HIVE. Later, I joined the "Luke is Alive" project too on July 03, 2021
Back then, there weren't many tip tokens on the platform. One of them was !ENGAGE token. In the alive community, Erik and others used to send the token by commenting !ENGAGE command under the author's post. The value of the $ENGAGE token was also pretty good. Unfortunately, the owner of the ENGAGE project decided to shut it down. It disappointed us, but "that shutdown" was the important factor that led to the creation of our Tribe and the tokens.
Erik invited us to be the founders of the tribe by contributing enough BEE tokens to start the tribe and tokens. Many of us contributed and became the founders. Erik later rewarded us with a peakd badge. To be mentioned, the founder also received an airdrop in ALIVE tokens, the native tokens of our Tribe.
On April 16, 2021, our Tribe went live and started thriving officially!
Time passed, and Erik added more and more features and projects. Luke Is Alive changed to Larry Is Alive and became part of the Tribe. The daily @alive.chat was initiated with daily tasks. It was quite an effective way to keep the community members engaged. I was the chat co-host for a short period. Due to a lack of time, I couldn't continue as the co-host. New co-hosts were assigned, and they continued doing an awesome job till the downtime! Erik gave me an honorary position, The Doc, in the Alive team! I am grateful to him for that!
At some point, Erik shifted his attention from #iamalivechallenge to the #aliveandthriving aspect. The @aliveandthriving account started curating five awesome posts daily. The account is still continuing daily curation, thanks to Rosyel, Ben, and Tydyn!
The daily drips of 5 tokens to the ALIVE token holders were one of the best things, I think. I have 38 $BRO tokens and more than 90% of the amount I got from the daily drip! How awesome is that!
The HP delegation for completing the daily @alive.chat task gave us a curation boost. Participating in the Larry Is Alive project gave us ALIVE Power delegation, i.e., a curation boost for ALIVE tokens. Delegating HP and AP to the community accounts gave us ALIVE and ALIVEM tokens. Providing liquidity to the ALIVE:ALIVEM pool gave us $BEE tokens!
There were multiple income streams from the tribes!!
The journey with the tribe was not always smooth. I had many short periods of inactivity, but I never thought of selling my ALIVE tokens to make some quick cash. Initially, Erik had a buy wall that prevented the token price from falling below 0.01 HIVE. Unfortunately, due to his long absence from the platform, the price declined significantly. It was quite a frustrating time for me.
Seeing the fall of some other projects on HIVE and not having Erik around for a long time, I started losing hope. I expressed my frustration many times in the Discord chat room. So, when a new "hope of light" started to appear at the beginning of this year, I was super excited.
The @alive.chat has been returned with 3 weekly tasks. The ALIVE holders started getting a daily drip. Some of the active authors are managing the tribe at present. They are working hard to bring back the glory!
Being an ALIVE token holder, I am quite hopeful and excited to see the new development in the tribe.
