I see a monster on the street
I feel that the image is that of a monster printed on the cover of a storybook
The whole neighborhood was disturbed by the cry and screaming of little Macmed. There was tension as her screaming unsettled the peace of the whole estate. Both the neighbors in the opposite flats and those occupying the boys quarters came out to help in the rescue of Macmet.
“What is the matter? Mummy Macmet, what is wrong with Macmet?” A lady asked in deep concern.
“She is scared of the picture of the monster on the cover of a fiction storybook.” Mummy Macmet answered.
A few weeks ago, Macmet and the father travelled to their paternal village. They went to pay a visit to their grandma. During their time of visit in the village, the village had their masquerades festival. There were many masquerades running the streets then. Macmet saw them and was scared.
The fear of the masquerades made Macmet fear going out to the streets all those days. So, when Macmet saw that picture on the storybook, she remembered the masquerades on the street. That fear made the little girl to fear and scream.
