Perspective Exercise.

Hi everyone!

This is a perspective exercise I did - I wanted to be free in my drawing, so I drew some shapes or simple objects. Not surprisingly, the ellipse is the most difficult shape to draw

First, I start with the horizon line, which should be the first element of any perspective drawing.

Then I choose 2 vanishing points (so my drawing becomes a 2-point perspective drawing).
The place you would choose for your 2 points determines the type of view you would get.

Here it's a wide angle view because the points are very close together. This will give very distorted shapes, especially if they are close to the ends of the page.

If you want to get a narrower angle (equivalent to the angle you would get with a zoom lens), you need to choose more distant vanishing points, which means you probably need to imagine them outside the page.

Then I drew some cubes.

Next I tried a more special shape, a kind of jar; I used the centre lines of the base to find the centre of the cube and then to create the complete shape.

I did the same thing here.

To better follow the ellipse, I should have made more median divisions in the 4 divisions already made, and then the cercle will come just past the centre of the 2nd median. (This is quite hard to explain 😂)

Training yourself to draw beautiful circles is probably an important exercise, because they are used in so many objects, and this is really more difficult than drawing a simple cube.

Hope you will like it!

See you soon for more.

Que bueno tu ejercicio y muy didáctica tu explicación, me dieron ganas de repasar y practicar, tengo rato que no dibujo

Thank you, I'm glad it inspired you 😊🙏

This is something unique and perfect 👍

Thank you so much! :)
