Helicodonta obvoluta and half-rotten shells that I found during forest exploration

in Amazing nature (AN)2 months ago

Hello everyone, on this occasion I would like to share an interesting experience that I had while exploring the forest, during the search process that I carried out I found something very interesting, namely a "Helicodonta obvoluta" which is a land snail that is rarely found in many places, this discovery is very enchanting and opened new insights about the natural riches that exist around me.

Helicodonta obvoluta is a species of land snail known for its unique and attractive shell, the shell of Helicodonta obvoluta is circular in shape and has varying colors ranging from brown, yellowish white and black with a pattern of fine lines that decorate the surface of the shell, I found This species hides under dense foliage in shady and moist environmental conditions, and these conditions are suitable for the natural habitat of various land snail species.

from this discovery I learned that the uniqueness of Helicodonta obvoluta lies in its hidden way of life and is very dependent on a healthy forest environment, from several discoveries I saw on the internet it shows that this snail is often found in places with high humidity and fertile soil , and it is the same as the environmental conditions in which I found Helicodonta obvoluta, such conditions make perfect sense because they provide a lot of food for the snail such as small plants and also decaying organic matter, when I looked at this snail more closely I could see its slow movements with his body soft-shaped moves slowly while exploring a damp surface.

This discovery reminds me of how important it is to preserve forests and the environment around us because many rare species such as Helicodonta obvoluta can only survive in natural ecosystems and are not disturbed by damage caused by humans. The existence of this snail gives an idea of how the important role of forests in supporting the lives of various species, both large and small species such as Helicodonta obvoluta.

Apart from finding Helicodonta obvoluta which was still alive, I also found a snail shell which was half rotten, this discovery was also quite interesting because it gave a new perspective on the cycle of life in nature, the shell I found looked damaged, several parts on the surface of the shell had been destroyed but were still quite intact to be recognized as a Helicodonta obvoluta shell, this discovery reminded me of the natural processes that occur in forest ecosystems where everything, both living and dead, must have a role as a guardian of natural balance.

This half-rotten shell is the remains of a snail that has died, perhaps due to age, predators or even environmental factors that no longer support its survival. The process of decay in this shell provides an opportunity for microorganisms and also detritivorous organisms to utilize organic remains. that exists, and will ultimately become a nutrient cycle for the soil, I am impressed by the way nature manages everything, even something that has died still has a role in supporting other life.

seeing this damaged shell also made me appreciate more the importance of the sustainability of ecosystems and how every part of nature, even though it seems insignificant, has an inevitable role in forming a much larger balance, finding this shell was an experience that reminded me that life and death are interconnected in the eternal cycle of nature.

the discovery of helicodonta obvoluta, both still alive and in half-rotted shells, gave me a valuable lesson about the cycle of life in nature, every element, whether it looks small or big, definitely has a very important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem, this also reminded me that Preserving the environment has become mandatory so that biodiversity can continue to develop and support life on earth. I hope that my findings today will be an inspiration for all of us to care more about nature and appreciate every part of the miracle of life around us.
