Hello everyone in this amazing community ☺️, I hope you're all doing amazing.
I've not been too consistent with crocheting because of school and exams. I wrote my last paper this week so that means I have about a week before the next semester ( why is the break so short 😩😭). I posted a picture of a crochet flower I made on my WhatsApp status, my coursemate saw it and asked if I could make one for her, well I declined not because I couldn't, but because I had little yarn with me here in school. I told her I could make hair scrunchies for her with some leftover yarns I had in my bag and she said yes.
Although for some of the scrunchies I had to improvise because some colours finished half way but it still came out nice.
I made all three scrunchies in less than a day, so you can tell how easy it is. It's a beginner friendly pattern, no need to be scared lol.
I made one for her, then the two extra was for my roommates. So I made scrunchies for three girlies lol, I was so happy they all loved it.
Materials
Yarn( any colour of your choice)
3.5mm crochet hook
Scissors
Darning needle
Elastic band or rubber band
(I used a rubber band for mine since I couldn't get my hands on an elastic band. I made sure to triple the rubber bands so it wouldn't cut easily)
Step 1
Sc into your elastic band until the band is fully covered with yarn.
Step 2
Ch 3, then 3dc into every loop. Once you get to the end, sl st
Step 3
Chain 3, then 3dc into every loop, once you get to the end again, sl st. Easy right ? Lol
Step 4
At this point, attach your coloured yarn and sc into every stich and at the end, sl St, cut your yarn and secure tightly and that's it . (You can use the pictures as reference) . This is a very beginner friendly scrunchie, and it's very easy and fast to make. I hope these steps were helpful and I hope you do get to try it out.
This scrunchie is a little bit full and a little too big for a child, so if you're making it for your baby sis or your little girl then you can do step 1, step 2, skip step 3 and then finish up with step 4. This makes the scrunchie less fuller and heavy. You can still do this for yourself if you don't like the full one but I personally prefer the full one since it's bigger.
I think I got carried away with the shoot and did a little too much 😂
