My ride route today took me through some lovely scenery. With the forest tracks drying out, this opens up all of my summer riding routes! 😝
Conditions were near perfect for this time of year. Powerful sunshine with a slight chill in the air. I chose to wear summer clothing, but an extra layer on top to guard against getting a chill. It turned out warmer than I expected, so it felt good.
So, off to Tilgate Park, taking a scenic route through to the other side. It was busy with families enjoying a walk in the sunshine. Onto a bridalway down over the mainline railway and into Oldhouse Warren. Here begins a long climb up to the main road.
With that done, along a minor road for a short distance and into Paddockhurst wood. A nice decent down again to Maidenbower. A short break for refreshments and on the route back towards Tilgate via a few footpaths through Maidenbower.
I passed an alarming sign on my way through Paddockhurst. I think its safe on the public tracks but they have to put up a warning to keep on the byway.
Just a short break at the lake before heading back.
Todays ride was so sunny and reminds me of mid summer riding. Of course, the temperature was nowhere near summer values but it was very early in the year to be so dry.
Fantastic ride to get the blood pumping. Im now excited for the summer to come! 😄
