Our weather is now improving, and the temperatures are rising nicely! This afternoon, I went for a short walk around the lake in Buchan Park. It was warm enough for short sleeves, and later this week, we could see highs of 27°C.
Compared to another popular park, Tilgate, here in Crawley, Buchan Park is much quieter and is popular with dog walkers. There is even a dog dip area where pets can take a swim in the lake.
There are lots of nice views of the two main lakes and so quiet. There is a main road not far away, but I couldn't hear it at all, probably due to the woodland which surrounds this lake.
The architecture here is fascinating and has castlelated features around the perimeter. This park was part of a manor grounds before becoming swallowed up by the town borders.
The park also has some picknic areas with tables ready for anyone who has a packed lunch! 😁.
Fishermen can get a permit to fish here, and I have seen the odd fisherman on my travels through sometimes. It looks so peaceful and must be a pleasure to fish here.
