What’s up? It’s Caturday! 😸
Yes indeed, it IS Caturday and Cyle and Cot are happy about it!
The day began with coffee, of course, and then some online stuff. When I got done with that, I started some laundry, rode the stationary bike for a bit and then headed out to play in some cow poo! Yep, it was time to work on the garden and try to enrich the soil before planting. First though, I had to deal with a stellar crop of dandelions that was in my enclosed garden area. 🙄 They are nice and yellow but really unwanted here. I chopped their blooms off with a garden hoe and am hoping I might coerce @silvertop next time he gets the weed whacker out, to maybe do the garden? Anyway, I added the cow poo to the raised bed garden and mixed it in good along with some other containers there. I then ran some water as I have a pot that sits inside my mini greenhouse for my tomatoes. It’s literally dry as it’s been shielded from the rains, so I soaked it with 2 gallons of water to get the moisture down through it. After watering the plants I’ll plant later this weekend, I took a break as we were going for a hike.
The skunk weed is reaching new heights earlier than usual. It’s sitting at around 15” already, and as you can see, it’s a good crop!
We hiked on up towards the off grid cabin. There are tons of dandelions everywhere! I don’t mind them as long as they’re not in my garden! A bee 🐝 was busily having lunch.
This next pic is part of the trail close to the lumber mill area. The sun was brilliantly bright today!
Then, there’s some people, lol, who are not aware of their surroundings! Who might that be, I wonder?
At the end of the road just before the trailhead, there a row of lovely lilacs. It was mentioned that they seem behind. Here’s a couple pics from today of them.
I have many archived pictures, so I went on a hunt for lilacs from last year. These next two photos are from mid May of 2024. I don’t think this year’s are behind so much as maybe we are the ones in a hurry for more spring/summer like weather!
On the way home, we stopped by the little farm stand where I purchased another dozen eggs. 🥚
