Rising Star - I choose one song per day, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - La excepción: Gustavo Cerati

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: It´s a Man´s, Man´s, Man´s World: James Brown

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is La excepción of the argentine artist Gustavo Cerati.

The influence that Argentina gave to rock en Español is undeniable. It is one of the Spanish-speaking countries with the best artists of the genre, I would even risk saying that it is the best.

Thanks to Argentine rock, we have had the opportunity to listen to artists such as Gustavo Cerati, Charly Garcia, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Fito Paez and Pappo. Although not only artists, we also had the opportunity to live stages of legendary groups such as: Soda Stereo, Rata Blanca, Seru Giran and Los Abuelos de la Nada.

My experience with Cerati started during my adolescence, where I listened to some of his songs like “Música ligera”, “Persiana americana”, “Profugos” and “Cuando pase el temblor” when he was part of the band Soda Stereo. However, I wasn't that fanatic of the group either, so I listened to them very casually.

It wasn't until a friend who was a Gustavo Cerati fan recommended me one of his solo albums: Siempre es hoy. I really ended up loving the album and decided to continue exploring his solo stage, becoming a fan of the artist.

Gustavo Cerati was born in 1959 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was a singer, guitarist and composer who is considered one of the biggest rock stars in Spanish. He came to fame thanks to his leadership of the band Soda Stereo, but he also had a remarkable solo career after their breakup.

Gustavo Cerati's “La excepción” is part of the album “Ahi vamos” which was released in 2006. The song has 23 million plays on the Spotify platform and 3 million on Youtube.
