In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.
After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Nuevos Trapos: Charly Garcia.
No llores por mi, Argentina: Seru Giran
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is No Llores Por Mi, Argentina of the group Seru Giran. Seru Giran is one of the most famous Rock en Español groups that has ever existed. With the figures that made it up, it was clear that the group was going to be a success.
In my case, my first contact with the group was a few years ago, when researching about Charly Garcia's life, I found out that he formed a group called Seru Giran, as well as Sui Generis, which I knew for songs like Canción Para mi muerte or Rasguña las piedras.
I'm more a fan of Charly Garcia in his solo stage, but I can't deny that the songs he composed with Pedro Aznar were completely crazy. From Peperina, Viernes 3 A.M, Perro Anda Luz and the song I will talk about today: No llores por mi, Argentina.
Seru Giran was formed in 1978 by Charly Garcia, David Lebón, Pedro Aznar and Oscar Moro. The band has been so successful that some have dared to call them the Argentine “Beatles” because of the quality of their work.
The band's debut was poorly received, but over time the band was consolidated until reaching the top of Argentine rock, with the album “La grasa de las capitales” in 1979. This included hits such as Viernes 3.AM, Perro Andaluz and La grasa de las capitales.
In 1982, the last album of the group before its dissolution was released: No llores por mi, Argentina. It is an excellent album, which reflected the social context of Argentina during the military dictatorship.
