We've come to a clear crossroads, and I've decided which path I'll be taking. It's essential that I prioritize my mental well-being over anything else. I've made the mistake before of continuing to push despite myself, and I will not make this error again.
After my post from yesterday, acidyo decided to completely decimate the rewards from the community account using his own community account's curation account. Instead of directly dealing with me, he decided to also take it out on the community using an account that had no relation to our discussion. A blatant abuse of power, irresponsible, reprehensible, and vindictive.
If I hadn't made this clear before, most of @hive-140084's delegations not to delegation-for-vote projects. Most of the earnings are from HSBI and any other rewards that I personally send to the community account. A small proportion came from the delegation-for-vote projects.
A very unique feature of the community account is that I never had to power it down, and instead kept the stake on Hive. The earnings from that account funded HSBI rewards for members of the community who contributed quality content. They received manual curation and HSBI rewards, sometimes along with other benefits (2nd layer tokens and Ecency promotions). It was a wonderful system that truly encouraged people to continue creating quality content and engage.
Acidyo wants curation his own way, and thus would rather break down the community's system (which was agreed upon by the community) than have it continue work in its own way. This is not to say that his points are invalid: manual curation is a wonderful thing, but there can be more than one way to reach the same endpoint. This is not something that he's capable of acknowledging. There is simply no nuance.
It should also be mentioned that the way acidyo's community accounts have reaped rewards is embarrassing, considering that his complaints are exactly about reducing the reward pool. Earning hundreds of dollars by self-upvoting spam comments is acceptable (see image below), but using delegated HP to earn rewards, which are then used to give HSBI as rewards is unacceptable.

Hypocrisy at its finest. Upvote your own spam then justify it. The amount of funds he's stolen in this manner far exceed the amount that's been obtained from delegation-for-vote projects. None of them can deliver even close to a $90 vote.
He claims that the funds earned are used in a beneficial manner. Are the funds earned by @hive-140084 also not used to help people? He doesn't like how some of the community account's earnings are obtained, and I don't like how the earnings on this community's account are obtained (upvoting spam comments).
But let the hypocrisy keep flowing. Let hundreds of dollars continue going into the hands of people who will abuse their power in order to centralize their control over the blockchain.
I'm not going to mince words: Acidyo and company, you are vindictive, hypocritical assholes who drain the blockchain of its humanity. For any benefit that you may bring, you suck even more blood out of it. You are a huge part of the reason that the social part of Hive is never going to succeed. Your ego will prevent you from seeing this while you continue sucking the rewards pool dry with your antics.
It is not my wish for Hive to fail, but this is exactly what's happening. I'd rather hope that the few entities on Hive who choose to abuse their power would fail, but they've already obtained too much stake and will continue supporting each other to continue Hive's downfall.
Upon completion of my residency, I was going to bring in my fellow graduates to join this blog. Now I will never even mention its existence. Along with another member, I was setting up accounts on other websites with high visibility to link to Hive. Now I will never link them to Hive. This is what happens when you work to destroy the people that put the effort to build.
I certainly have the option of continuing to post here, curating, etc. If this were not my 2nd round with the FC community, I might have considered doing this. Having the experience of FC being taken away from me in the past, I do not wish to continue participating in the social part of this blockchain any longer. It will be better for my mental health to leave entirely.
As the community account becomes defunct and unable to deliver rewards as it previously did, there's no point keeping its stake there as I had originally planned. I am going to liquidate all funds from all accounts and remove the stake. In other words, I will retrieve all of my funds. I'm not going to be a stakeholder any longer.
I will make one more post tomorrow, a more positive one, addressing the actual majority of people who tried to spread positivity across Hive as I tried to do.
One more member of Hive has been claimed due to the greed and selfishness of a few people. The actions and opinions of a few override the benefit of many. The oligarchy wins, while the average and new user lose. Congratulations on the destruction!
I will be tagging the inaugural members of this community to inform them that our reward system will come to an end. I'll be selling off my HSBI. Fortunately, I confirmed with @josephsavage that those who received HSBI will be able to keep their units and continue benefitting from the rewards we did already give out. This was paramount to me before making the decision to sell off all of my HSBI units. Keep thriving, folks.
Even though HSBI rewards will no longer be active, you can give the FreeCompliments Community a win by continuing to post here. Let the community thrive even without the benefits of being rewarded. Show the oligarchs that a community can still keep itself alive out of pure will. This is how we win.
