Hi There
Welcome to my weekly #saturdaysavers post, a saving update post that I regularly publish on HIVE as a participation in Saturday Savers Club. #saturdaysavers is saving club. It is a saving club so you can expect our activities are all about sharing our saving updates.
Last week I wanted to share my thought about Azircon (let's not tag him, he might think I am bugging him with this useless update) KE Ratio. You can read his first KE Ratio post here https://inleo.io/@azircon/ke-ratio-as-a-guide
I am not going to talk from scratch again, regarding I see it as a waste of time. People should already know about it, although I think everyone have different opinion towards it. I am not saying whether it is right or wrong, that's for you to decide yourself, but I will share my opinion about what we need it.
For me, KE Ratio is a parameter. It's a quantitative tools that we can use to see how a person treats his/her rewards from Hive Blogging. It's just a number, it doesn't tell about the person being good or bad, but it can describe how a person attitude towards HIVE.
So let's use another comparison which what we often do in our Investment. APR (annual percentace return) or APY (annual percentace yield). It shows how good the investment works, the higher is the better. However APR and APY can not work by themselves. If someone offers me a staking coin with 120% APR but I know the developer are asses or their token are superbly inflationary... Will I get their token too?
OF course not.
KE itself alone won't work, but it is still a lot better to have it rather than not. Allow me to show someone KE here.
I don't have to address the name specifically in public. That person is highly reputable users. That person is a curator in all big curation projects, as the privilege given there, all the posts that person made getting big votes.
So what is the key success factor there? Here... be a good buddy of whales, they take you in as curator, you can get massive votes, you become cool and people envy of your rewards and if you take out all your rewards, nobody dares to poke you because you have whales backing you up.
Sounds bad isn't it? But before you think I am making things up, let me show you another one.
This is another person who has the same modus operandi. This one is appointed as curator in 4 curation projects. He talks / comments a lot in a certain gang of orcas (who love to downvote me) and they take him as good guy. Look at the detail here, big guys ganging up high KE ratio people except people who linger in their circle, Funny!!
So with this new KE Ratio, we can see other side of the coin, which most people do not notice it directly. I am not an anti abuse people, or actively engage in onboarding new users. Most of the time what I do is trying to retain old and existing users.
Does KE Ratio help us in retaining users? The answer is straightly YES!
You see, when I talk to small users or people who are planning to exit HIVE, majority of them have one same issue. Not feeling rewarded well. It is not about they try to abuse or farm using vote trading, buying votes, spamming or whatever, It is more like they think they have done their best, reach a level which they believe on par with certain people and they do not get what other people get. And that other people they want to be are most likely those high KE people.
Before KE ratio is introduced, people refer to how high or how much you get "paid" here, the higher you get, the "right"er you are. However this is a trap, because high reward authors mostly are coming from two category, first you have been here before the fork from legacy chain, so you have developed a wide network. Second, let's be real, you are a curator of big curation project that you have privilege to vote yourself using curation accounts, or you are a buddy or in a circle with those curators.
So the key success in HIVE is not writing great but it is more like get into personal life with some whales and curators, you will have a massive boost in your author rewards LoL. That's surely what keep happening if people do not invent or find out parameters like this KE Ratio.
I know KE ratio is far from perfect and I hope KE Ratio will keep evolving into a better one as time progresses.
Ok that's for today chit-chat, Now let's see my saving update here..
PRIMARY TARGET : HBD SAVING
My primary goal is to grow my $HBD Saving, to reach 5.000 $HBD Saving in this year, 2025. That is an ambitious target regarding I started 2025 with 0 $HBD. Mathematically this means I need to get $95 HBD every week.
I have 20 $HBD saving right now, it is 10 $HBD more from the last week. I still have more 30+ liquid $HBD but I think I will keep it liquid. I might buy some #SPLINTERLANDS packs next week..
My progress is slow, All I can say right now is that real world comes first. Let's hope I could settle more life issues this week, so I will have more spare budget to make some good savings.
SECONDARY TARGET : HIVE POWER (HP)
Hive Power (HP) is very important for all Hivers who plan to stay long on this blockchain. For 2025, my secondary goal is to have 13.500 Hive Power (HP). It's not a big target and I want to make as many people realize that it is important to grow your Hive Power.
I have reached 11.110 HP this week, I think I manage to keep up with a good pace here.
91 HP growth this week. I haven't done anything great anyway, so I believe those number coming from the HIVE price dipping. The lower HIVE price we have, the easier we can grow our HP here.
Anyway That closes my post for this week. Happy Saving guys!
