Hello Hivers and friends. I hope all is well for everyone. For me, it's been hetic with work and other life struggles. I haven't been too active here lately and that's why. So when I got off Friday, I decided to do something other than work. Part of me still wanted to grind working because I really do need the extra income. The other part of me knew I needed a break from the hustle and bustle.
I had to work some crazy shifts at my full-time job during the week. I had two 13-hour days and one day I worked 11 hours. Every day, I made deliveries driving 3-4 hours in addition to what I worked already at my full-time job except on Friday.
That's right, I went straight to a lake first when I got off work! I only caught 3 fish in about 90 minutes, so decided to give another place a try. I was sure glad I did. It was already about 7:00 p.m. when I arrived and knew I only had about an hour before it got too dark. It was like the fish were starving. Just about every cast, I caught a fish. I also did not have to work the place by moving to different spots. It's been quite some time I had this much luck fishing. I must have caught 50 fish the little less than an hour I was there. Also many were keepable sizes for the species I caught. Hence, there are no pictures of the place, what I used or even a selfie of me holding some of my catches. The fishing was so good that all my focus went into it. I savored every second of it and felt this is freaking awesome!
Ok, I'll let you know my little early spring tatics tor some panfishing. I use a light weight rod and reel because it's more fun that way. The reel is threaded with either 4 lb or 6 lb monofilament test line. I use a small 1/64 ounce feathered jig. I carry just three colors white, black and yellow. I typically tip these jigs with Power Bait's little nibbles, better known as crappie bites. I use a small torpedo shaped float bobber, which I had about 24 inches up from the jig. Later this spring or summer, that depth will decrease, but I typically go no less than 12 inches. There's my tip, so go catch some fish now because I can't catch them for you 🤣
After I was done fishing, I went home to drop off a few fish for my own consumption. I then headed over to drop some fish off to some friends. They were very appreciative and even whipped up some simple noodles for me to eat. They also told me to stop by Saturday afternoon for a fish lunch surprise.
That night, I got some of the best sleep I had in a very long time. I was in bed by ten and didn't get up until around nine the next morning. I was just so beat physically, but I woke up feeling so refreshed. What I did the rest of the day was pamper myself some.
The first thing on the agenda was to get a haircut. I ended up getting one after stopping at three different places. It was rainy day, so I guess everyone had the same idea as me. My next stop was something I hadn't done since the end of the summer.
I was over due for some new feet rubber, hehe. I much enjoyed the pedicure not only for the relaxation but the conversation I had with my technician. The conversation took off when she asked if I had plans for the weekend. I explained that most of it has been done and mentioned I went fishing yesterday. She told me that she goes fishing very often. I pulled out my phone and showed her what I had caught yesterday. She was very knowledgeable and actually knew what kind of fish they were. She asked where I caught them at and later on told me of all the local places she has fished at. She even showed me some pictures of fish she had caught. I really was caught off guard. I didn't think my techinician would have been a fisherlady. Anyways, she was wearing sandals and she had some nice-looking feet. I say that because you only get to see mine 😆
Next up, it was time to cash in on my fish lunch surprise. I dug in quickly before realizing I should capture a picture for you to see 😆 Now that you have seen it you can still tell I had me some fish soup. It was a perfect lunch for a cold rainy day. They paired it up with a potato 🥔 which was really yummy together. Not a bad deal, catch some fish, give it to some friends and they prepare a meal out of it.
Well Sunday I went back to the hustle and bustle. This week is another crazy work week where I will work many more additional hours. I just look ahead to the next weekend, hoping I will have some more time to myself. The vicious cycle of needing to work to make things meet!
Thanks for stopping by to read me today. Take care, stay safe and have a great week ahead. Until next time! Hopefully it will be sooner than the last time 🙏
