Saludos y bendiciones, mi gente bella de @needleworkmonday. Un gusto saludarlos hoy, lunes de costura, aprovechando de desearles todo lo mejor a todos los que pasan a leer mis aventuras en el mundo de la costura. Que tengan una semana productiva, de muchas alegrías y creatividad.
Hace días les estuve mostrando cómo estuve haciendo los patrones para este proyecto, cosa que me gusta mucho, aunque me canse la espalda ubicando medidas en el papel, es algo que disfruto mucho, sobre todo cuando se me hace más práctico pasarlo a la tela.
Después de superado ese proceso, de hacer patrones, marcar en la tela con tizas y cortar, dejando 1 cm de margen de costura, es hora de empezar a coser en mi máquina de coser, a la cual paso a paso le voy agarrando el ritmo, aunque a veces me quiere hacer molestar un poco, ya que no entiendo por qué se parte tanto ese hilo.
Lo primero que hice fue coser el tiro delantero y después pegar los bolsillos. Este paso no lo había hecho antes, en sí no había hecho un pantalón largo, pero sí uno corto y sencillo también para mi princesa Arianna. Eso lo hice a las carreras, sin patrón ni nada, y tuvo sus detalles.
Ahora bien, a este sí le puse especial cuidado en cada detalle. Este tipo de pantalón Jogger se caracteriza por tener múltiples bolsillos y así los estuve haciendo.
Los que son más laboriosos son los de los costados y los de atrás. Para poderlos coser al pantalón, le marqué la forma del bolsillo con un molde de cartón, para así plancharlos y que agarraran bien la forma.
Para coser la doble costura de estos bolsillos fue todo un proceso, poco a poco para no pasarme de largo y devolverme a la segunda costura. Además, las capas de telas se hacían muy gruesas y casi que las cosí dándole a mano a la palanca con que uno mete y saca la aguja.
Una vez los bolsillos estuvieron listos, empecé a cerrar el pantalón y se lo medí a mi princesa @ariannamc y le quedó muy bien, solo faltaba pegarle la pretina y el elástico.
Le compré un elástico de casi 4 cm de ancho, por el medio tiene un cordón, pero Arianna no quiso que se lo sacase. Igual le quedó bien bonito.
Lo único malo es que las costuras de los laterales me quedaron un poco tensas, se ve como que la tela colgara, pero para ser mi primer pantalón, creo que me quedó muy bien.
Otra cosa era que Arianna lo quería que fuera más ancho y, a pesar de que tome las medidas como para que quedara más acampanado, se ve recto. Lo bueno es que ya tengo el patrón y le puedo hacer modificaciones para ajustarlo más al cuerpo o para que quede más ancho.
Y como ven aquí, mi princesa se lo puso ayer para ir a su clase de catecismo y se le veía muy bonito.

Jogger Pants

A few days ago I was showing you how I was making the patterns for this project, which I like very much, although it tires my back locating measurements on paper, it is something I enjoy very much, especially when it is more practical to transfer it to the fabric.
After that process, making patterns, marking the fabric with chalk and cutting, leaving 1 cm seam allowance, it's time to start sewing on my sewing machine, which step by step I'm getting the rhythm, although sometimes it wants to bother me a little, because I don't understand why that thread breaks so much.
The first thing I did was to sew the front hem and then glue the pockets. I hadn't done this step before, I hadn't made a pair of long pants before, but I had made a short and simple one for my princess Arianna. I did that on the run, without a pattern or anything, and it had its details.
Now, this one I put special care in every detail. This type of Jogger pants is characterized by having multiple pockets and that's how I was making them.
The most laborious ones are the ones on the sides and back. In order to sew them to the pants, I marked the shape of the pocket with a cardboard mold, so I could iron them and they would hold their shape well.
To sew the double stitching of these pockets was quite a process, little by little so as not to go overboard and return to the second seam. Also, the layers of fabric were very thick and I almost sewed them by hand, using the lever to pull the needle in and out.
Once the pockets were ready, I started to close the pants and I measured my princess @ariannamc and it fit her very well, I only needed to glue the waistband and the elastic.
I bought an elastic almost 4 cm wide, it has a cord in the middle, but Arianna didn't want me to take it out. It still looked nice on her.
The only bad thing is that the side seams were a little tight, it looks like the fabric is hanging, but for my first pair of pants, I think it looked very good.
Another thing was that Arianna wanted it to be wider and, although I took the measurements to make it more flared, it looks straight. The good thing is that I already have the pattern and I can make modifications to adjust it more to the body or to make it wider.
And as you can see here, my princess wore it yesterday to her catechism class and it looked really cute on her.
