Hi all, was thinking through what to write for today and incidentally, Splinterlands is down for maintenance and it is the last day of February, so why not write about all the business I went through in this month. Was hoping to write on Splinterlands but the maintenance is just taking a wee longer than I expected it to be.
This is a month filled with tonnes of activities and I was seriously swarmed which ended up with me posting late at night. The cover page is a photo I took during Ching Gay 2025 during the finale of the parade where fireworks filled the skies to wrap up the event. I will do a post on Ching Gay itself in the near future to share with everyone on what is this all about, but just for today, it will be a summary of the month of February.
Chinese New Year Festivities
I am a photographer and also run a photobooth business. So when it is the season of festivals, I definitely will have a chance to be part of them. I've taken part in multiple evens related to Chinese New Year.
The biggest one will be the Chinese New Year celebration at Marina Bay Sands where Taiwanese Singer Ricky Hsiao was invited to come celebrate with the Paiza members of Marina Bay Sands.
A very nice event filled with good music, great lucky draw prizes and festivities. And there I was, being engaged for setting up a photobooth for guest to bring home a photo of themselves at the event. We setup huge studio lighting at the venue to ensure good lighting and a beautiful photo to be captured.
My team and I were also involved in multiple satellite events around in different estates for instant photo print to commemorate the Chinese New Year.
And we can see how much joy everyone is having throughout the celebrations filled with lion dance and tossing of the Chinese salad for good luck. Not only that, grassroot leaders and member of parliament of the various constituencies that we are engaged in, joined the residents for the celebrations and posed for photos together for happy memories to be documented.
Other Event Engagement
When the Chinese New Year festivities subside, we continue with the various engagement on family days, seminars, happy hour and also a welcome event for new students to a private school. A month of so much activities that got me and team all busy. But we were thankful that it was event packed and we can be part of all those events to help capture those moments for our clients. And here are snippets of our setup and pictures we took at the event locations.
Chingay 2025
Because of my active involvement and engagement with the community centres and grassroots organization, I was honoured to be invited to this year's Chingay parade which happened within the Chinese New Year period where many local and international performers come together and do a street parade style performance. It was a great one and a half hour of parade with street performers and also vehicles transformed into beautiful floats showcasing the diverse culture brought in by each performing group. I used to always watch this from the comfort of my home in front of the TV screen, but it is totally different when I was live at the event to witness the smiles of the performers as they gave their best and enjoy the parade as they performed.
Below are some of the highlights of Chingay 2025 of which I will follow through with another post to share more on this event.
Wrap Up
While it was a hectic month, February was great for me and my team as we were part of so many lovely events. By being part of these events, it helped me to know more people and experience the culture and celebration of each of these event. Big thanks to all whom have engaged me for your events and hope we have helped you capture fond memories. Hoping for an awesome month of March that is to come in a few hours!
